New World P&I Service Held a “Problems on Chartering Legal and Practice”Seminar
On 12nd July 2014, Shanghai New Word P&I service jointly held a “Problems on Chartering Legal and Practice ” seminar with Shanghai Maritime University Law School, more than 50 employees from relevant chartering companies attended the seminar. Yao Hongxiu, Shanghai Maritime University Law School master tutor and chartering business expert professor, made a remarkable interpretation for participants on the legal questions of overlap/underlap, off-hire and pirates hijack, and using the latest cases to share with all participants.
Meanwhile, Mr. Frank of London P&I Club made a vivid explanation for everyone on starting the lay time and the punctual payment of hire. Professor Gou fengtao of Shanghai Zhencai Insurance assessment company also analysed the reasons and putted forward corresponding preventive measures and attention matters on the disputes that may caused by overseas refueling.
